The Seasons We Don’t Get Back
There are seasons of motherhood you know will pass quickly, but somehow you still aren't prepared for just how quickly.
This was Claire not very long ago—tiny, sleepy, and completely dependent on me.
Now she's crawling, cruising, standing without support, babbling constantly, and keeping me on my feet in every sense of the phrase.
Time really does move differently when you're watching a baby grow.
As a photographer, I'm probably more aware than most of how quickly a moment becomes a memory. I spend my days preserving the details people don't want to forget—the tiny hands, the expressions, the way a child fits into their parent's arms, the version of a family that exists for only a little while.
And motherhood has made that awareness feel even more personal.
I've been thinking a lot about that as I plan the rest of this year.
I'm choosing to be a little more present for this stage of motherhood, which also means choosing to work a little differently. Fewer dates. More intentional projects. Limited availability.
Studio Blanc isn't going away. I'm simply allowing this season of my life to have some room.
I'll still be photographing the people and stories I love—families, mothers, seniors, entrepreneurs, leaders, and the people behind the businesses that matter to them. Just not quite as often.
And, in a way, that feels fitting.
Because the photographs I value most have never been about having more. They've been about making something meaningful out of the time we actually have.

Coming Soon — Portraits
One-hour portrait appointments for families, motherhood, maternity, seniors, personal portraits, and more.
These are limited dates, and once they're filled, I'll return to my intentionally smaller schedule.
If you've been meaning to update your headshot, document this stage of your family, or simply create photographs you'll be grateful to have later, this is a good opportunity to do it.
Because the seasons really do move faster than we think.
And the baby I was photographing yesterday is already on the move.
